Did you know that corning is a form of curing; it has nothing to do with corn. The name comes from Anglo-Saxon times before refrigeration. In those days, the meat was dry-cured in coarse “corns” of salt. Spices and pellets of salt, some the size of kernels of corn, were rubbed into the beef to keep it from spoiling and to preserve it. This is why corned beef has such a unique flavor and texture.

Besides finding our recipe at the end of a rainbow…our corned beef is a cut above…Literally! Unlike our competition, we use the lightly marbled flat cut brisket, which is located above the fatty point cut. Bristol Farms’ buyers have our own USDA Choice Natural Beef cured for you, so you can enjoy the highest quality corned beef money can buy.

Catch our corned beef while it’s on sale for an amazing price of $4.99lb!! Effective March 9-21, 2011.
