Graskaas Cheese is here!

posted on June 19th, 2012 by Michelle Salatino

Beemster GraskaasAt Bristol Farms, we love Beemster and the wonderful cheese they produce.  Beemster cheeses have been produced from a farmers’ co-op in the Netherlands for over a century.   What makes Beemster cheeses so special is the milk they use.  The milk originates from canal lined pastures of North Holland where cows have grazed freely for 400 years.  Because of this lush setting, the milk is known for its rich texture and sweet taste.   Beemster’s Master Cheesemakers follow traditional (secret) recipes handed down for generations and use only natural ingredients.

Every Spring, Beemster produces a wonderful cheese called Graskaas.  Graskaas is special as it is made from the first milkings after the cows have been grazing on the fresh spring pastures. This cheese is full flavored, rich and creamy. Be sure and hurry in, this cheese will not be available for long as it is only produced once a year.

We will have this beautiful cheese on demo from June 20th – 26th from the hours of 11-6.
