Meet the Maker – Crave Brothers Cheese
posted on January 4th, 2013 by Michelle Salatino
George Crave from the Crave Brothers Farmstead Classics cheese is making a special appearance in our Newport Beach location for a live demonstration and educational session on a variety of cheeses: Les Frères and Farmer’s Rope Cheese.
Les Frères – (pronounced lay frair) This European style cheese was developed with care to reflect the Crave Brothers’ Irish-French heritage. It is a rich rind washed cheese with an earthy, fruity flavor. It tastes wonderful served with fruits and breads, paired with wine or in a cheese course.
Farmer’s Rope Cheese – Farmer’s Rope is a farm fresh handmade deli string cheese. It is shaped like a rope and it forms “strings” when pulled apart. Enjoy the full creamy flavor. Great for shredding and melting too!
Visit us in our Newport Beach location on the following dates and times to meet George and learn about the farm’s practices and cheese:
January 18 – 3:00pm – 6:30pm
January 19 – 10:00am – 1:00pm
George manages the cheese factory on his family’s Wisconsin dairy farm along with his three brothers: Charles, Thomas, and Mark. Besides producing award winning cheeses, the farm runs on 100% green power from their own cow’s manure. The farm produces enough energy to supply the farm in addition to 120 residencies in the area.
“Crave Brothers Farmstead Classics cheeses not only taste good, they make you feel good about your choice. Our cheese is made from our farm-fresh milk, produced on a state-of-the-art farm with sustainability practices that help preserve the environment for future generations.”
