Glowing Skin for Spring – the Natural Way

Want smooth & glowing skin? Yes? Then an all natural body scrub may be right for you! New cells are constantly being generated within our body and making their way to the surface of our skin. The problem is that the old dead skin cells are that remain prevent the new cells from surfacing. Our skin needs to be exfoliated 2-3 times a week to remove dead skin cells and allow newer, softer, more radiant skin to be revealed. Well, I’ve got some tips and the perfect recipe ingredients for making an all natural body scrub right from home!
Salt or Sugar?
Salt based scrubs tend to work well for oily or combination skin. If you have dry skin, you can still use a salt scrub; just maybe use it less often. Sugar based scrubs are best for sensitive and dry skin. They are much gentler on the skin than a salt scrub.
Making your body scrubs can be easy, fun, and affordable by using simple kitchen ingredients. To make, simply mix 1 cup exfoliating base with 1 cup body oil, then add 5-10 drops of essential oil and mix. It is that easy! Whether you are making the scrub for yourself or as a gift, canning jars with clamp lids are a great vessel. If it’s a gift, simply tie a beautiful ribbon around the top, and voila! 1. Choose an exfoliating base:
- Almond Meal
- Sea Salt
- Brown Sugar
2. Choose a moisturizing oil:
- Coconut Oil
- Almond Oil
- Olive Oil
3. Choose an essential oil
Want some add-ons?
You can always personalize any scrub to your specific likes and needs. Some additional ingredients that can be added to the simple scrub are honey, lemon juice, or freshly pureed strawberries or papaya (to be used immediately).
