Hatch Chile Poke, Fiesta Roll, & Crab Cakes!

It’s Hatch Chile time, and we’ve been roasting them fresh every day. While their popularity mainly exists with a variety of Hispanic deli and bakery dishes, we’ve found other ways of presenting its unique flavor into other ethnic foods. Sushi and it’s “Westernization” has developed into much more than its fish and rice origins with many fusion type restaurants blending sushi with other ethnic flavors. Our sushi masters created a new fusion sushi with our own Fiesta Roll, and during Hatch chile season, we add fresh roasted Hatch chiles to make our Poke and Fiesta Roll better than ever.
Hatch Chile Poke
Our Hatch poke is made fresh daily with a blend of high-quality ingredients. Using the same recipe as our ever popular Spicy Tuna Poke, we decided to turn up the heat a notch by adding diced roasted Hatch chiles. The unique smoky flavor of the roasted Hatch chiles combined with the flavor of our sesame oil blend really elevates the Hatch poke flavor to a league of its own. A must try if you can stand the heat. If you prefer to douse the flames, just create an equal mix of our Hatch poke and our non-spicy Aloha poke from our seafood bar to create the perfect heat level.
Hatch Chile Fiesta Roll
Our Fiesta Roll is handcrafted fresh every day by our own sushi chefs. We start with a sheet of nori (dried seaweed) and cover it with our special sushi rice that was blended with our very own vinegar. Next, we lay in a mixture of tuna, diced jalapeño, our very own spicy sauce, cucumbers, fresh chopped cilantro, and roasted Hatch chile. The original recipe is spicy in itself, but with the addition of Hatch chile, our Fiesta Roll is at a new level on the Scoville scale.
Our Hatch poke & fiesta roll is available now during our four-week Hatch chile promotion and will be at a special price through September 6, 2016. Stop by and check out our sushi chefs as they create our Hatch chile fiesta roll and other unique signature sushi items.
Hatch Dungeness Crab Cakes
What can be better than a fresh, hand crafted Dungeness crab cake? How about a fresh Dungeness crab cake made with roasted New Mexico Hatch chiles? Yes, we added these awesome Hatch chiles to our crab cakes to add a wonderful smoky and spicy kick. Don’t get me wrong, our fresh Dungeness crab cakes are fabulous without them, but when Hatch chiles are in season, we just want to add them to everything!
Okay, back to our crab cakes. Our cakes are handcrafted right in our seafood department and made exclusively with fresh Dungeness crab meat. We feel by using the same high-quality crab meat that we sell on a daily basis, our crab cakes will also taste as fresh as if you just made them from scratch.
Cooking these crab cakes is simple. In a non-stick pan, sauté the crab cakes with your favorite cooking oil over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes per side. Serve with our homemade tartar sauce and a few lemon slices. They can also be enjoyed as a delicious crab cake sandwich.
All our Hatch chile sushi and seafood items are available for a limited time during our four-week Hatch chile promotion, and will be at a special price through September 6, 2016. Stop by and check out our sushi chefs and seafood mongers as they create our unique, one-of-a-kind Hatch chile items.
