Tasmanian Cherries: In Stores + Worth the Hype
posted on January 18th, 2018 by Leslie Thomas
Sweet, ripe cherries in January? You read correctly. And these aren’t just your average cherries either. These oh, so plump and juicy dark red beauties are flown in from our mates in Tasmania, Australia every winter. The amazing fruit is grown on the awe-inspiring orchards by the way of the Hansens, a 4th generation family farm who specialize in Tasmania cherries.
If you haven’t had a chance to try these cherries yet, ask for sample the next time you’re in our stores. Be prepared to be blown away. They are quite addictive.
They’re amazing on their own for snacking but we’re pretty fond of chopping them up and adding them to vanilla bean ice cream, Greek yogurt, a craft cocktail (cherry Moscow mule anyone?) or even burrata cheese with some crushed pistachios.
