A Valentine’s Date Night In…
posted on February 3rd, 2018 by Leslie Thomas
Avoid the crowds at the restaurants this year. Save an evening out on the town for another day. Valentine’s Day should be relaxing and intimate anyways.
How about surprising your very special someone with a perfect date night in? Or vowing to cook an elegant meal together this year? Either way, spending time at home away from the hustle and bustle just seems so much more pleasant than sitting in a busy and loud restaurant, right?
Here is our guide for the perfect Valentine’s Date Night In…
Bubbles (Lots of bubbles)
What better way to set the mood than with a pop of a champagne bottle? Enjoy some of our favorites this year like Poema Cava Brut (2 for $15 right now, by the way) or Le Grand Courtage Brut for just $14.99.
A Surf + Turf Dinner
For all you meat eaters out there, can you think of a better dinner for a romantic night in? We suggest pairing one of our perfectly sized 4 oz. lobster tails (currently on sale for $8.99) with either a juicy, flavorful, and lean filet mignon or a Grass-fed, Wagyu New York Steak (Save $13 lb. right now). With a 30 minute “cool down” time out of the fridge and a heavy sprinkling of kosher salt and pepper, either steak will cook up beautifully on the grill or in a cast iron skillet. Broil your lobster tail with a nice slab of butter and you have a swoon-worthy food pairing.
A Sweet Ending
Our bakery is always happy to make something custom for you. So if there’s a cake you and your Valentine just have to have, we can help you. Or – try some of our Valentine’s Day exclusive bakery offerings like red velvet cupcakes and chocolate dipped strawberries.
Candles for Ambiance
Dim the lights and let a candle (or two) burn. It’s a sure way to set the mood for a night of relaxation. Right now, Root candles are 20% off too!
