posted on May 26th, 2017 by Sara Trujillo

Marinated 48 hours in our own premium, natural sauce, our tri-tip is full of smokey, sweet and peppery flavor from first bite to last. Want to make your own masterpiece? Here's how! Love the butchery’s Big Time Marinated tri-tip? Grab a jar or two of the same marinade we use in our kitchen. It will knock you out with big-time flavor. Also great for steaks, pork tenderloin, chicken and lamb. (Pst..Try a taste in the Deli Department.) Grilling Tri-Tip with Big Time marinade, preheat your grill on high. Place the tri-tip over the high heat to sear the meat and create nice grill marks; leave on 2 to 3 minutes per side. Turn the heat down to low and cook for approximately 20 minutes per pound, turning the meat about every 7 to 8 minutes. Test if the meat is done by inserting a meat thermometer in to the thickest part of the meat. The tri-tip should read 120°F for a rare roast, 130°F for medium-rare and 140°F for medium. Take the tri-tip off the grill when it has reached your… Read More

Grilled Peaches!

posted on May 26th, 2017 by Sara Trujillo

Your Summer Dessert Secret Weapon: Peaches on the Grill It’s not summer if you’re not firing up the grill, and lucky for you there’s some seriously great meat on special to kick off the party. And to finish things off sweetly, we have a secret tip for something special: grilled peaches. When you grill peaches (or other stone fruits), you perform a kind of magic. The heat of the grill makes the natural sugars caramelize, creating a new sweet and smoky flavor that will make you an instant fan. And you don’t have to serve the peaches warm to get the full flavor impact. Grill them up in advance, pop them in the fridge, and serve when you’re ready. And though you can use the grilled peaches in an endless variety of ways, some of our favorites are the simplest: Just top with whipped cream, Mascarpone cheese, cinnamon, chopped nuts, honey, or all of the above! How to grill fruit Our favorites for grilling: Peaches (of course!), nectarines, bananas, pineapple, strawberries… Read More

Bristol Farms Red & White Selection #6

posted on May 16th, 2017 by Sara Trujillo

Bristol Farms Private Label Selection wines were launched several years ago for a couple of very good reasons - One, we wanted to become our own wine negociants, whereby we toss a wide net over various vineyard sources and isolate the highest quality “juice” possible. We then segregate these samples, taste them individually, and make a final blending judgement of what we deem to possess the best mouth feel, character, body and finish. Secondly, we want to offer a fun and unpretentious wine that can be enjoyed on an everyday basis whether it’s a house wine or shared with friends and family for special occasions. We create these wines for both great taste and affordability. Our name is on the label so it’s paramount that you believe these wines, once tasted, over deliver for the price point. This is no easy task since we always aim high, but that’s part of the charm and anxiety of this task – we want every new Selection release to exceed your expectations. Speaking of… Read More

Bristol’s Own Virginia Peanuts

posted on April 18th, 2017 by Don Bandow

OUR PEANUTS. Our Virginia Peanuts are one of only four types of peanuts grown in the US. They represent only 15% of the total U.S. peanut production. While this variety of peanut is already considered the largest kernel size of all four types, we only source the “cream of the crop” for our delicacies, the very highest market grade available – Super Extra Large. Please note that the actual size of the Super Extra Large Peanut may vary from season to season, depending on the growing conditions of the seasonal crops. Less than 3% of all Virginia Peanuts grown meet the strict standards of this grade. And you can be assured we have sourced the finest and largest available. OUR PROCESS. All of our Virginia Peanuts are prepared by our Roastmaster in small batches, using the same time-honored recipes. A roasting process that cannot be duplicated by mass production methods. Our peanuts are hand-cooked in pure golden peanut oil with no additives or preservatives to alter the… Read More
