Passover begins in the evening this Friday, April 22. To help prepare for the celebrations, we are proud to feature a full variety of Passover goods with a uniqueness only found at Bristol Farms. Traditional items can be found in store on display, like matzo, grape juice, gefilte fish, macaroons, and candles. Our customers will be greeted with a great variety and selection. We have over 20 items imported from Israel with multiple gluten-free, all-natural, and even organic offerings. For those who love snacks and have a sweet tooth, we are offering a unique selection from brands like Elite, Oppenhiemer, Barton’s, Gefen, Rebecca and Rose, and Savion. This year is a first for offering Kosher items, such as almond bark, vacuum packed beets, and brownie brittle. We love Matzo! Summer Picnics from Bristol Farms Catering

posted on May 18th, 2015 by Melinda Race

With summer about to be in full swing, it’s the perfect time to plan an outdoor picnic! A picnic makes for a great romantic evening, group date, family outing, or a fun afternoon with friends. And there's a bonus - whether you are having a picnic at the beach, a park, or your own backyard, there’s less of a limit to how many people you can invite, and in some cases, you can also have your canine friends join in. If you're like me and love dining alfresco when the weather is nice, I have some great tips for you. On your picnic packing list should be a large blanket. Look for something that has a large enough surface area for everyone to sit on, but is lightweight enough to fold down and fit in your basket with ease. Be sure to bring along outdoor dishware, utensils, and food containers. Our Bristol Kitchens department offers a great selection of paper napkins, high-end disposables, acrylic drinkware, and more. If you’ll be sipping on an adult beverage, our wine department will… Read More

This Easter, let us do the cooking!

posted on April 1st, 2015 by Melinda Race

There is nothing I love more than watching my “twenty-something-year-old” children run around with an empty bucket looking for eggs all around the perimeters of our home.  I am so joyous when this is taking place because they really do act like little children again.  They laugh, they tease, they fight over the eggs and they make me smile.  I love my family and I love Easter.  The new tradition, when they leave my home, is to thank me for letting them feel like little kids again. After all, who doesn't want to be that carefree? When it comes to cooking for the holidays, I have no desire to spend my time slaving over the hot stove; I'd much rather spend time with my family talking, and enjoying their company.  If you are like me, then you will love what our Chefs can do for you this Easter.  You will be amazed with the flavors of foods that they create as they really are spectacular. Spiral Ham, Leg of Lamb, and Turkey are the main courses available on our Easter menu, plus… Read More

posted on March 17th, 2015 by Melinda Race

Don't panic - it's not the stuff inside the bottle that's going blue. Starting April 1, 2015, French’s 100% Natural Classic Yellow Mustard bottle wrappers are going blue in support of “Autism Awareness Month,” and Bristol Farms' Café and Catering teams are in full support! We have proudly partnered with French’s to bring awareness by offering our customers the blue wrapped mustard bottles in every cafe and catering event during the month of April. The new look of the classic yellow French's bottle will be displayed on our cafe tables. Pick up a bottle for an opportunity to participate in the cause - these blue bottles feature a QR code on the back where all you need to do is scan with your smartphone qr code scanning app, and with each scan, French's will make a donation to Autism Speaks working towards French’s goal of $100,000! Tea Party Catering

posted on January 13th, 2015 by Melinda Race

The Duchess would be proud….. The Duchess is best remembered as the creator of the British meal afternoon tea while visiting the 5th Duke of Rutland at Belvoir Castle in the mid-1840s. Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire, in the East of England. It is the administrative center for the wider Borough of Bedford. During the 18th century, dinner came to be served later and later in the day until, by the early 19th century, the normal time was between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. An extra meal called luncheon had been created to fill the midday gap between breakfast and dinner, but as this new meal was very light, the long afternoon with no refreshment at all left people feeling hungry. She found a light meal of tea (usually Darjeeling) and cakes or sandwiches was the perfect balance. The Duchess found taking an afternoon snack to be such a perfect refreshment that she soon began inviting her friends to join her. Afternoon tea was quickly adopted by many middle and upper class… Read More

Many people hold parties at home or attend special celebrations ring in the upcoming New Year. In many cities, large scale public events are held. These often attract thousands of people.  A particularly special known celebration of the New Year's Eve festivities is the ball drop in Times Square in Manhattan, New York City. The ball is made of crystal and electric lights and is placed on top of a pole, which is 77 feet, or 23 meters, high. At one minute before midnight on December 31, the ball is lowered slowly down the pole. It comes to rest at… Read More
