Mission Statement
To provide the finest assortment and highest quality fresh and specialty foods from around the world - in a warm, friendly, and uniquely designed atmosphere with service and value that exceeds the expectations of our customers.

To be active and responsible members of the community and to support the personal and professional growth of our employees while maximizing shareholder value.

Corporate Profile
Bristol Farms has collected a long string of accolades since our first store opened in 1982 in Rolling Hills, CA. Local media has given our Carson-based gourmet and specialty food retailer their "best" attribution, naming Bristol Farms the "best small market", with the "best deli", "best sushi", "best meat", and "best cooking school." In Zagat's most recent Marketplace Survey, Bristol Farms was rated the number one market in overall quality and service; our stores were described as "a shopper's beautiful dream with wide aisles, helpful staff, and beautiful presentations."

Bristol Farms was named after a street in West Los Angeles, and the word "Farms" was added to emphasize freshness, homemade quality and a warm glow of simple pleasures. The first store in Rolling Hills Estates is relatively small at only 17,800 square feet; it was followed four years later by a larger store in South Pasadena (22,500 square feet). The Manhattan Beach Bristol Farms, still larger at 33,900 square feet, opened in 1991 with a catering facility and cooking school. Bristol Farms opened its first store in Ventura County at Westlake Village in November 1996 and another in Long Beach in February 1997. Bristol Farms entered the fast growing Orange County market during the summer of 1998 in Newport Beach. In June of 1999, our company acquired a small store that was a Hollywood landmark, Chalet Gourmet, and brought it into the Bristol Farms family. Soon after the opening of the Hollywood location, we opened a store in Westwood. In November of 2000, Bristol Farms opened a store at the site of the former Chasen's restaurant that serves the Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles areas. This location incorporates many of the design elements that made Chasen's a hallowed place in the lore of "Old Hollywood". 2006 brought another 40% growth in size and sales for Bristol Farms with the openings of our Westchester, La Jolla, San Francisco and Palm Desert stores. Each store has a unique and distinct feel designed to facilitate the communities they are in and have been great additions to the Bristol Farms family.

Service: Knowledgeable, Helpful Staff
Each Bristol Farms store maintains a large staff who are always available to offer assistance to customers. At this time, our company's staff totals approximately 2,200. Employees are hired after exhaustive screening for friendliness, personality and enthusiasm, in addition to specific product and food knowledge.

After hiring, an extensive training period follows to enhance knowledge about the special attributes and uses of Bristol Farms' products. It also serves to build skills in assisting customers in selecting appropriate products for their needs.

As one Store Director put it, "The worst thing, the capital offense around here, would be to say, 'That's not my job; that's not my department.' It's everybody's store. If something's wrong, it's everybody's problem. So we work very hard to hire friendly, energetic people-people who care about people, and take pride in what they can do for them."

Bristol Farms considers its employees team members, its most important asset, and a true competitive advantage. According to Kevin Davis, Chairman/President/CEO, "Because so much of our business depends on serving the customer and on the value and knowledge we provide, the best way we can attract and retain the caliber of people we need is to treat our employees exactly as we would want to be treated on the job."

Atmosphere
Bristol Farms' stores have been carefully designed and decorated to create a singular shopping experience that evokes the local area. For example, the Manhattan Beach store features murals depicting the coastal city in the 1930's. In the West Hollywood Chasen's store, we have kept the original high back leather booths that once resided in the world famous Chasen's Restaurant.

Other design features include stand-alone "shops" with full facades and themed props. The wine area, with its four walls, wine racks, and roof trellis, resembles a specialty wine boutique. Additionally, customer traffic flow is directed through the stylized layout to maximize customer exposure to the full range of Bristol Farms' products. Finally, all merchandise is meticulously arranged by what our company calls "merchandising artistry." The produce is hand placed and shelf items are always fully stocked and neatly stacked.

Community Involvement
Not only does Bristol Farms design each store's atmosphere to be evocative of the local area, we go to the next level by becoming an integral part of the communities in which our company operates. A conscientious effort is made on behalf of Bristol Farms to support the many philanthropic organizations in the communities surrounding our markets, as well as national organizations including the City of Hope and the Muscular Dystrophy Association, with exciting in-store events for charity and numerous product donations to the local groups.

Specialty Grocery & Coffee
Need to find that hard to locate spice or maybe your just looking for something different to put on toast. The Grocery Department at Bristol Farms carries anything you can dream up. If you can't find it on our shelves we will find it for you and have it delivered to the store closest to you. We carry only the finest products; they would make anyone's kitchen look, smell and taste like a five star restaurant. From every day to hard to find grocery items we have them or we will get them.

Meat & Poultry
Our Meat Departments are our pride and joy. Our beef is corn fed and has never been exposed to any growth additives or hormones. We cut our steaks thicker and trim off almost all the excess fat to provide our customer with a product that is unparalleled in the market. Our customers can eat 100% of the beef they purchase at our stores.

Our poultry is free range and 100% vegetable fed and organic... all this is nice but what about the taste? After extensive research we have found that doing good can taste good. The Petaluma Chickens that we sell at Bristol Farms have that old-fashioned chicken flavor you might remember before chickens were grown in crowded, dirty "factory" barns. Chickens taste like what they eat and our robust pure birds deliver the kind of flavor you deserve.

Our sausages are impeccably fresh with herbs and spices that are blended together creating the perfect profile for each sausage variety. Our meats are ground daily to ensure freshness, our chickens are hand boned, and our pork, lamb, beef and veal sausages are made from lean, fresh, hand trimmed cuts. We use pork or lamb casings and hand cut for superior quality. We carry over 30 varieties to fulfill our customer's needs.

Our marinated meats are prepared fresh daily with fresh meat and poultry from our meat department, all you need to do when you get our marinated meats home is simply bake, broil or grill your entrée and serve with your favorite sides.

Our dry aged beef is monitored daily by our meat professionals. Bristol Farms is one of only a handful of retailers in the country to provide USDA Prime cuts, a grade that applies to only 1%of all graded beef. Dry aging beef requires very special care, time and the best quality Prime beef available. For this reason, you don't often see retailers taking the extra steps to offer it to their customers. We know our customers are committed to not only to fine food but the best in quality, so we believe they're worth the effort. We urge our customers to experience the difference that Dry Aging makes.

Seafood
Here at Bristol Farms we believe that freshness is the key to quality. Our Seafood Department is a prime example of freshness. We receive deliveries six days a week so we always carry the freshest seafood available. Always fresh, rarely frozen with a selection that's almost overwhelming. Each department is staffed with trained seafood experts that can aid in providing cooking directions and meal solutions.

Sushi
Whether you are trying to eat healthy, or you just like the taste of sushi, our Sushi Departments are the way to go. All of our sushi is made fresh daily by our highly trained staff so you get the highest quality and the freshest sushi. This is why the latest Zagat Survey rated Bristol Farms "Best Sushi".

Deli/Cheese/Prepared Foods/Pasta/Pizza
There is nothing better than a sandwich made with fresh cold cuts sliced just the way you like it. Whether you like your turkey shaved or sliced thick or thin, our deli is waiting to help. We carry over 500 varieties of cheeses and employ a highly competent staff to help you pick the right one to suit your needs. Our potato salad or spinach pasta salad make a great side dish for any meal. There are over 80 varieties of homemade soups at your fingertips made from the finest ingredients that make a great fast and easy alternative for lunch or even dinner.

Produce
The cool crisp taste of an apple or the aromatic smell of fresh herbs while you cook, no matter what you need, the produce department at Bristol Farms has it. Our produce buyers walk the Los Angeles Produce Market daily and hand select over 350 different varieties of the freshest fruits and vegetables from around the world. We also visit our grower's farms to establish quality requirements such as sizing, maturity and flavor prior to packing and shipping to our stores. Blood Oranges from Italy and Mangos from Peru are two of the many varieties of produce we sell. Our produce staff are specially trained, extremely knowledgeable, and always ready to answer any questions; this is the main reason we were rated the "#1 Overall Produce Retail Market" in the Los Angles area by the latest Zagat survey.

Wine/Beer/Spirits
We sell over 3000 varieties of wine, some from California's own vineyards and some imported from France, Chile, Australia and other countries around the world. Our customers are catered to by hand picked wine specialists who have gained knowledge through training and experience. Weekly wine tastings are offered at selected locations, and designed to pair the wine selection with a taste from our own Bristol Café. We specialize in hard to find spirits, our strong import selection allows us to bring our customer both quality and value accompanied by service and knowledge.

Bristol Café
If you crave fresh taste and convenience, Bristol Café has all the features of your favorite restaurant. Whether you need a meal to feed the family or a cup of Bristol's own soup, our Café staff is there to help.
