Yes, you’ve read correctly! We officially have our hands on the extremely limited, beautiful, and decadent, Copper River Salmon!
It’s an Alaskan salmon that’s so special, it’s the gold standard for chefs, restaurateurs, and die-hard salmon connoisseurs. Harvested from the pure and pristine waters of Alaska’s Copper River, this sustainable fish is pretty special. That’s because every year, from May through September, Copper River King, Sockeye, and Coho salmon return to the river. They make the very difficult journey up the glacial fed waters to spawn in their birthplace.
As a result of this intense task, Copper River salmon are extremely rich in omega-3 fatty acids and also, in their melt-in-your-mouth texture that they’re known for.
Coveted by anyone who has ever enjoyed it before, this salmon comes with a very, very short season and can also be very hard to find.
Right now, we have Copper River King available, also known as Chinook. It is most celebrated for its giant size (20 lb average!) and amazing flavor thanks to the omega-3s. The Copper River King season is especially short – only lasting through June…so definitely come get this one soon!
Copper River Sockeye will be available soon. A little easier to find than King Salmon, this variety averages about 6 pounds and also boasts a deep red color and mouth-watering flavor and texture.
