Holiday, Part Two (How to: Holiday Party with Friends)

You’ve celebrated with the family – now it’s time to party with your pals. Whether it’s Christmas/Hanukkah Pt. 2: Friends Edition, New Year’s brunch for the squad, or a just-because get-together, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to ensure your shindig goes smoothly.

Get ready for an exclusive bash that everyone in town will want to crash, starting with some unbelievable appetizers:

01 Fondue

Lots of cheese? Yes, please!

All of your friends will go wild for melty, gooey, and irresistible fondue, made with exceptional imports from our cheese shop. Use a blend of nutty fontina, slightly sweet gouda, and a firm alpine-style cheese like gruyere to bring together the most delightful dairy imaginable.

Find fondue cheeses now in our cheese department.

02 Chili Con Queso

Made with creamy cheddar, our Chili con Queso gives chips a slight kick and serious flavor. Dip into our Deli Department’s Grab and Go section to pick up this remarkably addictive app.

03 Spinach Artichoke Dip

Sharing is caring, so make sure you’ve got enough dip – and variety – for everyone. Double up (but, please, don’t double dip) with housemade Spinach Artichoke Dip from the Deli Department.

And, while you’re here, be sure to pick up some stone-ground tortilla chips or hot-and-fresh bread from our bakery. After all, you can’t eat Spinach Artichoke Dip all by itself…though we wouldn’t blame you if you did. It’s just that good!

04 Fire-Roasted & Tequila-Marinated Shrimp Cocktail

Catch of the day? Heck, this might be the catch of the year!

Our fire-roasted shrimp cocktail is a smoky smash hit every time thanks to a marinade of pure tequila, fresh local herbs, and a secret spice blend. Find it in our Seafood Department and serve it alongside our tangy chipotle aioli for a fresh take on an all-time party classic.

That’s just a small sampling of what we’ve got in-store for you! Talk to one of our helpful associates to pinpoint the best in meals, mains, and more for your soiree. In the meantime, here are some helpful make ahead tips to keep in mind.

05 All the Booze

Oh yes, our wine and spirits department is phenomenal and we will happily toot our own horn to that. From a dozen sparkling seltzers, to the hardest to find spirits, to all the local craft beers your friends could ever want, to California, European, and South American wines for the more refined drinking palate, we have it all. Plus specialty mixers, garnishes, and barware too!

Planning Your Party

  • Plan out your menu: By mapping out your menu in advance, you’ll cut down on extra work and ensure a delicious mix of flavors and textures.
  • Freeze what you can and label everything: Avoid last-minute stress by keeping freezer-friendly dishes in the (you guessed it!) freezer. Also, do yourself a favor and label everything so that you can quickly and easily find everything when it’s party time.
  • Make room in your fridge for prepped food: You can’t freeze everything, so be prepared to put some of your food in the refrigerator. By clearing out some space in advance, you’ll stay cool and stress-free for when your guests arrive.
  • Clean as you go: If you’re cooking, don’t let the dishwasher pile up – clean plates, serving bowls, and utensils as you go to give yourself ample room to work with in the kitchen. Or, better yet..

Let us do the work for you: The holidays are over – it’s time to relax with friends and enjoy the best our expert chefs have to offer.
