This Halloween, we’re dressing up our snacks as creepy, crawly charcuterie. Take a peek at our ideas for savory tricks and sweet treats to create a monster mash-up of your favorite charcuterie board essentials.
Halloween-on-a-stick. Make orange and black themed veggie skewers with orange cherry tomatoes, black olives, and mini-sized mozzarella balls.
Mini Mummies. Or piggies in a blanket, in costume! Use crescent dough to wrap little smokies or halved hot dogs. Add some candy googly eyes or freestyle faces with ketchup or mustard, and you’ve got your mummified snack attack.
Bell Pepper Jack-O-Lanterns. Remove the rib and seeds from orange bell peppers, and carve away, like you would a pumpkin. Fill the edible jacks with dippable veggie sticks and dips, or with pumpkin seeds or nuts.
Fancy Fruit Snacks. These Chocolate Pistachio Apricots are more classy than creepy, but they scream ‘Halloween’ in one perfect bite.
Witch Fingers. Another chocolate-dipped delight using pretzel rods (dipped in melted white chocolate and green food coloring) as fingers and blanched almonds for the nails.
Peeled Pumpkins. Take off the skin from mini oranges or tangerines, and add a piece of celery for stems. Plop them here and there on your board or gather them in a patch.
Graveyard Chocolate Cheesecake Dip. Can a charcuterie board have too much chocolate? We think not. Plus, this dip is perfect for cut strawberries, orange or apple slices, or even for those witch fingers to steal a swipe.
There are endless ways to have fun with your Halloween snack display. Put hummus in a caldron-shaped bowl, have your prosciutto pouring out of a skeleton’s head as brains, or add edible spiders and candy googly eyes as decor to your usual charcuterie fare. Whether you’re serving tricks, or treats, or both, your spooky charcuterie is sure to be a graveyard smash!
