Since 1982, our mission at Bristol Farms has been to bring Southern Californians together around good food. In addition to our already high standards, we have implemented additional protocols to protect the health of our customers and employees—and by extension, our larger community.
We are diligently monitoring the latest updates on the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Our 1,700+ team members are advised to practice the same everyday preventative measures that we, as individuals, should be practicing to reduce the transmission of seasonal viruses: properly cleaning hands, objects, and surfaces; not touching eyes, nose, or mouth; respiratory etiquette (covering cough or sneeze with tissue, disposing of tissue, washing hands); and avoiding contact with others if under the weather.
In addition, because COVID-19 can live on surfaces for two hours to several days, we are cleaning high-traffic employee and customer touch points a minimum of every two hours. We also have suspended all food demos and events inside of our locations until further notice.
In order to better serve you, we are temporarily reducing our store hours. Please check your local store for details. This extra time will allow us to restock our shelves, continue sanitization of our locations, and support our team members. In compliance with Department of Health regulations for grocers, we have closed our cafes and suspended both internal and external seating. As we all navigate these unprecedented times, please know that we are working closely with our distributors and are receiving deliveries throughout the day.
We are managing the number of people in the store by ensuring social distancing can be maintained. If, during peak times, the store grows too crowded, we will respectfully ask customers to wait outside, while maintaining proper space between each other. To support this social distancing behavior, we’ve added clear signage, interior and exterior floor markers, and increased intercom announcements in the stores. To further protect the community, installation of plexiglass screens at our registers and scales will be completed by April 3rd. As with all actions during these fluid times, we are constantly monitoring the situation with our customers’ and team members’ safety always being our priority.
