Food has always united us, across cultures and across generations. This shared experience around the table has connected us for centuries. And it continues to do so, now more than ever.
Each day seems to bring new updates and new terms: social distancing, flatten the curve, community spread. In times like these, it’s important to remember how our individual actions can ripple out through the community. And how much that collective impact matters now.
To all the farmers, brands, distributors, and our team members: we cannot thank you enough. It takes a lot of passionate people to run a grocery store. Some you see every day. Some are behind the scenes. All of us are working together to bring you the products you need and the freshest, tastiest items for you to share with your loved ones.
To our shoppers, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve you. And we truly thank you for your trust and your loyalty. Especially in times like these.
The wellbeing of our shoppers and our team members is of the utmost importance to us. In compliance with an LA City Ordinance signed on April 6th, all stores will now expand our senior shopping hour to also include physically or mentally disabled individuals (one assistance provider per disabled individual); as well as operators of licensed residential congregate living facilities who are shopping for residents (must show a copy of congregate living home’s state-issued operating license). Senior shopping hour remains from 6am – 7am daily, for all stores except Palm Desert, 7am – 8am daily. And remember, seniors aged 60+ save 10% on Tuesdays.
As your local grocer, we are proud that we are able to offer such a vital service to the community and provide jobs for our team members. Speaking of which, we couldn’t be more proud of the dedication of our teams. They’ve worked non-stop to ensure shelves are stocked, surfaces are sanitized, and customers are serviced – they really are on the front lines. In appreciation, we have temporarily increased our employee discount to 30%. We’ve also set up direct communication with our HR department for individualized support, to address concerns they may be having and helping them through this challenging time.
We have to remember, we are in this together. Let’s spread community.
