1. Why did you start Melting Forest?
Melting Forest was born to create a drink brand that blends fun, functional, and flavorful elements. After years in wellness and alternative products, I saw a gap in the market for mushroom-based beverages that not only delivered functional benefits, like focus, stress relief, and energy, but also tasted great and looked exciting on the shelf. We wanted to invite people into the world of mushrooms without it feeling like medicine.
2. What obstacles did you face along the way?
Educating the market on mushrooms as functional ingredients was a big challenge. Many people still associate them only with food or psychedelics. Getting buy-in from retailers required data, storytelling, and a lot of samples. Scaling while maintaining quality, and navigating retail logistics during early growth tested our team’s endurance.
3. What lessons do you have for other entrepreneurs?
Start with a clear mission, but stay flexible. Build a product that solves a real problem—and be relentless in getting it into people’s hands—distribution, branding, and velocity matter as much as the formula. And always listen: to your consumers, your data, and your gut.
4. What’s on the horizon for Melting Forest?
We’re expanding into retailers nationwide, moving into different types of stores coast to coast. Alongside this retail growth, we’re continuing to innovate, bringing new functional beverages to market that stay true to our mission of being fun, functional, and flavorful.
5. How do you keep work/life balance? What drives/inspires you?
Finding balance isn’t always easy, but I make it a priority. Time with family keeps me grounded, and getting out on the water or traveling helps clear my head and spark new ideas. I’m inspired by the challenge of building something from the ground up—and by the people around me who believe in the journey.
