Cheesy Butterflied Garlic Shrimp

Cheesy Butterflied Garlic Shrimp
Put Cheesy Butterflied Garlic Shrimp at the top of your wish list! In this recipe, succulent shrimp are butterfly-cut, generously coated with garlic butter, topped with melted mozzarella cheese, and baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Optional Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, red pepper flakes (if desired), salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Using a sharp paring knife, butterfly the shrimp by making a shallow cut along the back of each shrimp, taking care not to cut it in half completely. Spread the shrimp open slightly to create a pocket for the filling.
  4. Brush the garlic butter mixture over the butterflied shrimp, making sure to fully coat each shrimp.
  5. Place the butterflied shrimp on the prepared baking sheet, laying them flat. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of each shrimp.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until the shrimp are cooked through and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  7. Remove the shrimp from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
  8. Serve the Cheesy Butterflied Garlic Shrimp as an appetizer, garnished with lemon wedges for squeezing over the shrimp.
