Peach Jam

Ingredients

  • 5 cups peaches, pitted and chopped

  • 3 cups granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon pectin

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine your peaches, sugar, and fresh lemon juice.
  2. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 25 to 30 minutes or until the peaches start to break down and the mixture thickens.
  3. If you want a firmer jam, add 1 tablespoon of pectin to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Once the mixture has cooled, pour it into sterilized glass jars and let it cool to room temperature.
  6. Store the jam in the refrigerator for up to 2 months or freeze it for longer storage.
  7. Enjoy this fruity jam on toast, biscuits, or as a topping for yogurt or ice cream.
  8. Note: Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of your peaches. You can also add spices like cinnamon or ginger for extra flavor.
