Nothing screams summer like sipping a sweet iced tea under the sun! However, ripe peaches add extra flavor and balance out the bitterness of black tea while still providing a mild boost of caffeine.
4 cups black tea
2 ripe peaches
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
Peach slices for garnish
Brew 4 cups of black tea as you normally would.
Slice 2 ripe peaches and add them to a saucepan with 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water.
Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from the heat and let it cool.
Strain the peach mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into your brewed tea.
Stir well and serve over ice.
Add fresh peach slices for garnish, if desired.
