Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6-8 ounces each)

  • 4 tablespoons paprika

  • 2 tablespoons dried thyme

  • 2 tablespoons onion powder

  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, thyme, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Rub the salmon fillets with the spice mixture until they are evenly coated on both sides.
  3. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet or grill pan over high heat.
  4. Add the vegetable oil and heat until it's shimmering.
  5. Add the salmon fillets to the skillet or grill pan, skin side up.
  6. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and crispy on the outside.
  7. If you like your salmon cooked all the way through, you can cover the skillet or grill pan with a lid and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on each side.
  8. Remove the salmon from the skillet or grill pan and let it rest for a few minutes.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite vegetables, rice, or quinoa.
